What is adventure audio?

We're a really small audio electronics company in Rochester, NY dedicated to making things that you make noise with.

HOW DO YOU MAKE THESE THINGS?

Handcrafted. One at a time.

IS IT DIFFICULT?

Honestly, its pretty diffucult sometimes.

My Pedal is broken, Where should I send it?

Please go through this troubleshooting checklist real quick:

  • Is the pedal powered 9VDC Center Negative 2.1mm Barrel Jack?
  • Is the pedal daisy chained with other pedals? i.e. not getting enough milliAmps (mA) to work properly?
  • Are any of the jacks loose? Can they be tightened?
  • Are the input and output cables swapped?
  • Are any of the cables bad?
  • Is your amp on? ;)

Before sending us your pedal (preferable with a picture of your pet), please test the pedal alone and ensure that the issue is consistent. Swap cables, instruments, amps, power supplies* or locations, if possible.

Most of the pedals sent in for repair are fully functional but were not working because of a bad power supply, bad cables, or something to that extent. Please double check. Saving you loads of precious, pedal saturated, rip time.

If you've double checked a million times, please fill out our REPAIR FORM and we will get back to you as soon as we're done soldering, or packing something up, or running the CNC, or eating a veggie burger, or something else like that.

WHAT'S UP WITH MY WARRANTY?

We stand behind our stuff and will repair or replace any device for free for as long as Adventure Audio lives. You pay the shipping to us. We pay the shipping back to you.

CAN I RETURN THE PEDAL?

We do not accept returns. BUT,

most of our DEALERS have awesome return policies.

If you are not really too sure about whether any of our stuff is a keeper, please buy from one of our rad dealers.

WHICH POWER SUPPLIES WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? *

We do not recommend the use of switch-mode or daisy chain power supplies.

We recommend transformer-isolated 9VDC power supplies with a 2.1mm Center Negative barrel. If you’re powering a single pedal, the One Spot power supply works great and has a pretty low noise floor. You could find one at your local music equipment shop.

For multiple pedals or a realistically a whole pedalboard we recommend:

We do not recommend daisy-chaining multiple effects units to one power supply (especially reverbs / delays / modulation) because they require a lot of current. Long story short, daisy chaining power means that each pedal is consuming a fraction of the total amount of current the power supply can provide. Over drawing current will most likely result in increased noise, loss of signal, improper operation, or worse...

HOW DO YOU THINK OF THIS STUFF?

Usually, just from spit balling on the couch late at night watching some Tarantino movie. Sometimes its Ancient Aliens or something similar. Sometimes we think of these things during the day and we're drinking coffee most likely.

CAN I GET ONE OF YOUR PEDALS IN A CUSTOM COLOR?

Sometimes we offer limited runs for custom colors, but other than that its not cost effective enough for us to justify offering custom colors at this time. We have an external enclosure manufacturing process and they have minimum order quantity expectations.

A few of our rad DEALERS might have some custom colors left.

ANY NEW STUFF COMING OUT?

We are always prototyping new things. We have a barebones process we go through when designing new stuff. Its all still a secret. Join our mailing list to stay in the feedback loop.

ARE YOU PLANNING ON MAKING MORE SIAMESE GROWLERS?

As of now we have no plans to make more.

To be honest, that pedal was a pain to make. We have revised it a few times and the same circuit now lives in the Glacial Zenith with more features including a Before/After Toggle and a third Low Range setting.

CAN YOU MOD MY PEDAL WITH SOFT SWITCHING?

We do not offer modification services for any pedals not made by us.

If its one of our pedals, yes, but not quite yet. We are working on a small soft switching circuit board that we can modify our pedals with. Hang tight, its almost here.

Do you have A MANUAL FOR [PEDAL] ?

Check the product page additional info tab. There should be a MANUAL PDF link.

If it's not there, we are currently working on a manual. Hopefully you can read enough info on the website to answer whatever question you may have.

HOW LONG WILL MY PEDAL TAKE TO GET HERE SO I CAN TURN KNOBS ALREADY?

We are working as fast as we can to get your pedal out the door and under your feet. Its really our whole mission, ya know? Sometimes it might take us a week to get a pedal together but sometimes they are already in stock. We kind of have a rotating stock system that we are constantly revising to create better efficiency. Believe me, we are efficiency nerds.

Long story short:

  • 1-2 weeks within the continental US.
  • A little bit longer for international orders.

ARE YOU PLANNING ON MAKING MORE FUZZ PEAKS?

We had a really fun run with that pedal and cut it off at serial #200. It just felt right. It was becoming a pain the manufacture so we decided to nix it all together. There has been talk of a V2 but not in the immediate future.

I'm hearing a high pitch noise from my Outer Rings When the pedal is bypassed. is it broken?

Good news! It's not broken. There is some bleed that we've noticed in the first version of this pedal. If the gain is all the way up, try backing it off a bit in order to reduce the bleed.

As of right now we have no plans to do another run but we're not ruling it out. We are definitely not ruling out a V3! Keep your eyes pealed.

ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE ANY MORE DEMOGORGONS?
